VPPS COMPLETE FOR KIWI 35
Velocity Performance Predictions have been completed for a Kiwi 35 co-owned by Mark Nannini, Mike Kehew, and Paul Coristine. The trio, who have become very competitive on the local PHRF circuit, hopes to reduce weight in the boat and add a lighter mast and asymmetrical spinnaker, and the VPP results prove these modifications will be effective in making the boat faster all-around. Watch out for them on Wednesday night PHRF racing in Newport! | | | QUEST 33 S HITS THE WATER
Holby Marine's first “Quest 33 S” was launched in December 2003. She recently sailed Key West Race Week, where she posted a fifth out of thirteen boats in Division 2, PHRF-5.
The Quest 33 S is an updated and improved version of the popular Quest 33, and features a larger full-roached mainsail and non-overlapping jib. The mast has been moved aft 9" to lower the aspect ratio of the jibs & make them easier to trim & more durable. The mast is keel-stepped and the chainplates moved to deck edge, both to reduce rig load and therefore the mast’s required section size and weight. The result is a stiffer, more powerful boat.
