DRYDOCK CRADLE SYSTEM FOR 45m DUBOIS / VITTERS “LADY B”

A modular haulout / drydock system for “Lady B” in conjuction with MCM Newport and Robert Silman Associates.  The cradle tiers are sized per ISO standards for intermodal transport containers, thus can be easily shipped worldwide.  Upper splashes nest within tower framework during transport.  FEA used to optimize geometry and structural member specifications to withstand static and wind loading.

DRYDOCK CRADLE SYSTEM FOR 58.4m DUBOIS / ALLOY “KOKOMO”

A modular haulout / drydock system for “Kokomo” in conjuction with MCM Newport and Robert Silman Associates.  The cradle tiers are sized per ISO standards for intermodal transport containers, thus can be easily shipped worldwide.  Upper splashes nest within tower framework during transport.  FEA used to optimize geometry and structural member specifications to withstand static and wind loading.

MAST STEP REFIT FOR 24m “ZANABE”

“ZANABE” a modern wooden yacht, was noticed to be deforming below her mast due to insufficient structure.  RMD was contracted to perform the following scope;

-Assess strength of existing inadequate structure per sailing loads ( mast compression )
-Design new mast step to fit within yacht geometry without any destruction of existing framework.  A mock-up was built in plywood to prove out the geometry.
-Engineer mast step in stainless steel, utilizing FEA to optimize plate thickness
-Oversee step construction and installation

LIFTING BARS

Rodger Martin Design has engineered several lifting bar arrangements for yachts and tenders, in steel and aluminum.  All engineering meets applicable OSHA / ISO / ABS Standards.
